Skilled Worker Visa Support With Sponsorship And Eligibility Review
We provide support with selected straightforward Skilled Worker applications for individuals who have, or expect to receive, sponsorship from a Home Office-approved UK employer and whose application can be properly assessed within EFC Immigration's current authorised scope.
A Skilled Worker application depends on more than having a job offer. The sponsor, Certificate of Sponsorship, occupation, salary position, English-language requirement, immigration history and other route-specific requirements all need to align with the application.
The Skilled Worker Applications We Currently Focus On
This page is for applicant-side immigration support. The route must already be reasonably identifiable and suitable for the applicant's circumstances. Sponsor-licence and employer-compliance work is handled separately through EFC's Business Immigration service.
Applying From Outside The UK
Selected Skilled Worker applications where the applicant has sponsorship for an eligible role and the relevant applicant-side requirements and evidence can be clearly assessed.
Extending Or Updating Skilled Worker Permission
Selected applications involving continued sponsored work, changes requiring an immigration application, or updated sponsorship where the relevant current and proposed employment position is clear.
Selected In-Country Switching Applications
Applications where Skilled Worker has already been identified as the proposed route and the applicant's current immigration status permits an in-country application under the relevant Rules.
Selected Health And Care Worker Applications
Applicant-side support for eligible health and care professionals where the role, sponsor, salary position and other applicable requirements of the relevant route can be properly established.
What We Need To Establish Before The Application Proceeds
Sponsor & Certificate Of Sponsorship
We need the sponsor and Certificate of Sponsorship details relevant to the proposed application, including the sponsored role and employment information recorded for the worker.
Occupation & Job Eligibility
The occupation code, role and applicable Skilled Worker eligibility provisions need to be checked against the current Rules, including any relevant transitional position.
Salary & Points Position
Salary cannot safely be assessed by reference to one headline figure. The applicable going rate, points option and any relevant route or transitional provisions need to be identified.
Applicant Requirements
English language, financial requirements where applicable, immigration history, suitability and any additional applicant-specific requirements must also be considered.
Typical Evidence Areas We May Need To Consider
These are broad evidence areas rather than a universal Skilled Worker checklist. The documents required depend on the application type, applicant's circumstances, sponsored role and the particular requirements being relied upon.
Identity & Immigration Status
Passport or other identity documentation, current immigration status and relevant previous immigration records or decisions.
Sponsorship & Job Details
Certificate of Sponsorship information, sponsor details, occupation code, job title, salary and other relevant employment information.
English Language
Appropriate evidence showing how the applicable English-language requirement is met for the particular application and immigration history.
Qualifications Or Points Evidence
Qualifications, professional information or other evidence where relied upon for the particular occupation or Skilled Worker points position.
Additional Applicant Documents
Financial evidence, tuberculosis testing, criminal-record certificates, ATAS or other documents where required by the applicant's circumstances.
Dependants Where Relevant
Where family members are applying, their eligibility and evidence require separate consideration because dependant eligibility can vary according to the worker's route and circumstances.
Skilled Worker Applications Sit Alongside — But Are Different From — Sponsor Compliance
The worker and sponsoring employer are connected through the sponsorship process, but the professional work required on each side is different. We keep those scopes clear.
Applicant-Side Skilled Worker Support
This page concerns the individual's immigration application: applicant eligibility, immigration history, sponsorship details, evidence, application preparation and the worker's next immigration step.
Employer Sponsorship & Compliance
Sponsor licences, sponsor duties, Certificate of Sponsorship processes, right-to-work systems, compliance reviews and wider employer-side immigration work belong within EFC's separate Business Immigration & Sponsorship service.
From Skilled Worker Enquiry To A Properly Scoped Application
Initial Enquiry
Tell us your current immigration status, proposed job, employer, sponsorship position and any important visa expiry or employment date.
Route & Sponsorship Review
We consider whether Skilled Worker appears to be the appropriate application and review the relevant sponsorship, occupation, salary and applicant-side requirements.
Evidence & Application Preparation
Once instructed, we identify the required evidence, address relevant gaps and prepare the matter within the agreed scope.
Review & Next Step
The application and supporting information are reviewed against the agreed scope before submission or the appropriate next action.
Skilled Worker Complexity Should Be Identified Before A Routine Application Is Agreed
Skilled Worker rules contain different salary, occupation, switching and transitional provisions. Immigration history and sponsor-side problems can also change the nature of the matter. EFC therefore screens complexity before confirming the service.
Occupation, Salary Or Transitional Issues
Unclear occupation coding, unusual salary calculations, tradeable points or reliance on transitional provisions may require more detailed technical analysis before eligibility can be confirmed.
Switching Or Adverse Immigration History
Previous refusals, overstaying, suitability concerns, uncertain current status or a proposed in-country switch requiring deeper analysis may fall outside a straightforward application service.
Sponsor-Side Concerns
Problems with the sponsor licence, Certificate of Sponsorship, job genuineness, sponsor compliance or the employer's sponsorship process may require separate employer-side assessment rather than being treated solely as an applicant application.
Start With An Initial Immigration Enquiry
Tell us your current immigration status, the job you have been offered or are expecting, the employer, your sponsorship position and any important expiry or start date. We will use that information to consider the appropriate next step.
